Progress on e-KSF / ESR Links

At the time of writing, we have processed our first two “batches” of organisations for data links between e-KSF and ESR (England and Wales), meaning that we now have the link in place for 51 organisations – 13 in England and also all 38 organisations in Wales.

Organisations are finding that they need to schedule some time and effort to set up the link – not much, typically a few days to tidy up e-KSF data before the link goes live, and check the ESR data after the link goes live – but that this effort is quickly repaid in:

• Reduced administration on e-KSF (no need to manually update joiners, leavers and changes in information)
  
• Reduced administration on ESR (no need to manually record KSF reviews on ESR)
  
• Easier reporting (e-KSF data about reviews can be combined with ESR data about demographics – ethnicity/gender, pay band etc) to provide powerful equal opportunities monitoring

Our third batch, batch C, contains a further 19 organisations in England and will be completed by the end of April. Batch D is scheduled to contain a further 68 organisations and will be completed by mid June 2007. We then have a plan to implement the link for all NHS organisations in England and Wales, in line with the roll-out of ESR itself, through to spring/summer 2008.
